Potty Mouth

Soooo, I've been having a hard time lately. I don't feel well, I've been a single parent for the past few weeks, I have finals coming up and it's NOT EASY coaching 6 year old boys...(insert whiney voice here) Poor John, the past few phone calls have probably been excruciating. I just needed to vent to someone and who better than my husband because he really knows my heart (I hope) and knows that they are just words right? Wife of the year. I decided to research what the Bible has to say about my ranting and rumbling. In a word: bad.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4-6

"Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret - it leads only to evil." Psalms 37:8

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name." Exodus 20:7 (pretty sure God dangit is included - don't you think?) :/

"I said, 'I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth...'" Psalms 39:1

Yep. That part about the muzzle is really in the Bible. I think I actually screamed Dang!!! when I read it. (followed by the old "sorry God, didn't mean that) Time to break the habit I guess...
