Long time, no blog

I am not sure if anyone even reads my ramblings anymore, but since it feels so good, I will continue....
This past weekend was friggin' sweet, if I may say so myself. It all started with John getting home from Boston. He was gone on business and I was a single mommy for far too long! I don't know who was more excited to see him... me or the boys. Anywho! Saturday, we stayed outside all day long and worked in the yard. Okay, okay, I didn't really work in the yard but I played outside with all the neighborhood kids while my husband worked in the yard, and made everyone lunch, and let all the kids come inside when they were "sooooo hot". But the best part about this weekend? Mother's Day!!!Oh boy do I love mother's day. It is the one day of the year that I know I can sleep in and it is ohsowonderful! Not to mention my breakfast in bed (cinnamon rolls and a coke - I do live with 3 boys!),watching a little "The Sound of Music" - I do do do love captain VonTrap - and, wait for it, Notting Hill (not really a Hugh Grant fan but I love, love this line... "I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.." makes me smile and get all warm and fuzzy inside every time. My boys did a fantastic job in the gift department: they got me a planter (so I can send another plant to plant heaven), chocolate goodies, a bottle of wine, and a gift certificate for a mani/pedi! Like I said, friggin' sweet!

Another fine point from this weekend? Finley decided he wants to sit at the table like a "big boy"... something I was not so sure about, but decided to give him a shot. We have a table from the "island collection" and have stools instead of chairs.

This, obviously, presents a problem for our little man.. but he did amazingly well. Goodbye baby seat, hello panic attacks and a big boy stool! I must say, he was soooo proud of himself!!!

What did you do for Mother's Day???

Love,
Meredith

it HAS been a long time! I have noticed the same thing with me and all my blogging friends. Everybody must be busy!!
Glad you had a great Mother's Day. Very Cute pictures. You know they make these bar stool adjusters for your kids so they can sit right at the proper table height. I have a friend who has one and they are COOL. I'll look it up for you.

Awww, the teacup planter! Can John take a hint or what! Sounds like you had a fabulous Mother's Day. I'm jealous :(. No, mine was good aside from the emotional breakdowns!
